Worming liquid for dogs and cats. Contains 100mg fenbendazole per ml for the treatment of adult cats and dogs infested with roundworm, tapeworm and lungworm and the treatment of weaned and unweaned puppies and kittens infected with roundworms and puppies infected with protozoa. Pregnant bitches: 0.5ml per 2 kg bodyweight daily from day 40 of pregnancy to 2 days post-whelping (approx. 25 days). Puppies and kittens under 6 months: 0.5ml per 1 kg bodyweight daily for 3 consecutive days.
Panacur contains Fenbendazole and is suitable for both cats and dogs, including unweaned puppies and kittens from two weeks of age. It is effective against many round, hook and tapeworms Such as Toxocara, Toxascaris, Anyclostma, Trichuris, Uncinaria, and Taenia species., and Giardia infections in dogs, and lungworm in both cats and dogs in accordance with the instructions provided. MAY BE USED IN PREGNANT BITCHES. Also in pregnant bitches at 25mg/kg daily for last 25 days of pregnancy. Normal adult dose one ml per kg, pack treats 100kg It is vital that puppies are wormed otherwise they will not thrive and will also shed literally MILLIONS of worm eggs which persist for long periods to infect other dogs and also humans. Toxacara roundworms can damage human sight especially where puppies infect children at play or by contaminating sand pits or parks. All modern wormers are safe and effective but on very rare occasions breeders have found that puppies have become ill after being wormed. The symptoms described are usually diarrhoea, often foul-smelling and containing blood and sometimes with vomiting. The puppies may also have a high temperature and become dehydrated. Wormers containing Fenbendazole or Febantel have a very gentle action "starving" the worms by preventing them absorbing glucose so there is no effect on the `host` animal. Dead worms are then digested, The safety margin of Fenbendazole means that it is almost impossible to give a dose large enough to harm puppies.
