Arden Grange Adult Rich in Lamb & Rice
Lamb is an excellent protein source for many dogs that are intolerant to chicken protein. Arden Grange Lamb & Rice is used very successfully by the Dogs’ Trust to provide wholesome and gentle nutrition for all types of dogs, especially those that may suffer from allergies or other irritations caused by their diets.
Arden Grange lamb meal is obtained from grass-fed New Zealand lamb, and is Grade A quality. It is produced from meat trimmings and the clean parts of the carcass cooked, dried and ground into a very digestible, calcium-rich, fine flour. It does not include the wool, head, hooves and specified risk material such as the spinal cord.

Itchy skin and recurrent ear infections are often a sign that your dog is experiencing difficulties in metabolising his food. Very often, phasing in a new protein source (such as lamb) will help to alleviate these symptoms as the body may be better able to break down the protein into the essential amino acids necessary for efficient structural and metabolic functioning. Optimum levels of vitamins and minerals, and the correct ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 fatty acids may help to promote good skin and coat condition. As with all our products, Arden Grange Lamb & Rice is a hypoallergenic diet, and free from the main ingredients known to provoke adverse food reactions in dogs – wheat gluten, beef, soya and dairy products. It is also free from any artificial colourings and flavourings and is preserved naturally with a combination of mixed tocopherols (vitamin E) and rosemary. None of the ingredients in the recipes are genetically modified. With Grade A lamb meal as the primary ingredient, Arden Grange Lamb & Rice provides complete and balanced nutrition for even the most sensitive digestions. As with all Arden Grange products, prebiotics and nucleotides are included. Prebiotics may help to promote the beneficial intestinal flora and limit the growth of pathogenic bacteria. Nucleotides (natural short-chain proteins derived from yeast) enhance metabolic function, allowing optimum levels of nutrients to be absorbed and utilised by the body. Lamb may be a suitable protein source for dogs with a food allergy or dietary intolerance to chicken protein. The recipe (as with all our range) contains pure chicken oil as the primary fat source. It is a common misconception that dogs who are unable to digest chicken protein are unable to digest chicken oil. A true food allergy is an immune response to the protein fraction of the reactive ingredient, and therefore the oil will not provoke an adverse dietary reaction.
